How can a ‘cheesy’ idea increase sales?

Problem

For the 2022 Christmas Campaign, Man City wanted to give something back to the community. The initiative called ‘City in the Community’ supports healthier lives through football. The campaign needed to have a focus on Man City’s clothing range, with £5 to be donated to charity for each Christmas item purchased.

Solution

To achieve an eye-catching look and feel, a simple graphic system was devised as a flexible element for the 2022 campaign.

The master pattern included the “A Time for Giving” campaign logo, representing the city gift you can give to a loved one. Additionally, a dynamic set of blocks and glyphs were designed, featuring key city icons. When composed, a bold and engaging aesthetic is generated which can be applied for any format and application.

The campaign was rolled out in store and online and was well received by Cityzens worldwide.
